Returning Students

If you received Financial Support last year and require continued support, you must complete a new application for 2026–2027.

Log in using your student number, date of birth, and password from last year, or select ‘Sign in with Microsoft’ and enter your student email address. You do not need to register again.

If you cannot remember your password, you can reset it by selecting ‘Forgotten Your Password’.

New Students and First-Time Applicants

You will need to register before applying. To do this, you must have your Student ID Number:

  • Before enrolment: This can be found in the Joining Pack emailed to you and your parent/guardian at the end of June. Please check your spam/junk folder if you have not received it.
  • After enrolment: Your Student ID Number is on your QM ID card issued during your enrolment appointment.
  • Second-year students applying for the first time must also register.

When entering your Student ID Number, please use capital letters. The portal is case sensitive and will not accept incorrect details.

After registering, you will need to validate your account. A confirmation link will be sent to your registered email address. If you do not receive this, please check your spam/junk folder.

Eligibility and Evidence

Applications will only be accepted if your parent(s)/guardian(s) receive a government-funded, means-tested benefit, such as Universal Credit.

We are unable to assess applications where only contribution-based benefits are received (e.g. contribution-based Jobseeker’s Allowance).

Failure to provide the correct evidence will delay your application and may result in it not being processed.

Assessment processing

Applications will only be assessed once all sections are completed.

You will be informed prior to the start of the autumn term if you are eligible for support.

Travel Support

If you travel by public transport, please note:

  • We cannot fund travel costs while your application is being processed
  • We cannot provide refunds after approval

You must ensure you are able to travel to college while your application is under review.

Free College Meals

Free College Meals are applied for through the same process as the bursary.

If you receive Universal Credit, you will be eligible. You must:

  • Provide evidence within your application
  • Tick the box indicating you wish to receive free meals
